WiFi Attendance

Overview

WiFi Attendance was an innovative Android application developed by Anstar Technologies that automated student attendance tracking using WiFi proximity detection. Instead of manual roll calls or card swipes, the app detected when students were within range of classroom WiFi access points.

Released as a beta product with 10+ users in pilot educational institutions, WiFi Attendance explored novel approaches to attendance management that reduced administrative overhead for teachers and provided accurate, timestamped records.

The project demonstrated Anstar's willingness to experiment with hardware-adjacent software solutions and mobile sensor integration for real-world institutional problems.
